As we approach another election season, it’s crucial for liberty-minded Americans to recognize an emerging tactic: so-called Republicans who support President Joe Biden are not genuinely Republican in any meaningful sense.
Back in 2020, the liberal media narrative was obnoxiously evident. Biden paraded a collection of former Republicans at the Democratic National Convention to masquerade as a centrist. Unsurprisingly, many of these Republicans later admitted they had been used, as Biden ignored them post-victory. This only underscores why President Donald Trump successfully took over the GOP by challenging a failed, detached elite.
The mainstream media, however, finds it advantageous to paint Republicans who support Biden as legitimate GOP members to bolster the narrative that Biden is a unifier willing to bridge the divide. Case in point: The Hill recently highlighted “prominent Republicans” who back Biden, including former RNC Chairman Michael Steele, former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, and former Trump staffer Sarah Matthews.
This list is far from impressive. Steele has been absent from GOP politics since 2011 and is now a mouthpiece for MSNBC. Kinzinger and Duncan transitioned straight from their political roles to CNN, another network known for its anti-Republican stance. Meanwhile, labeling Matthews as “prominent” for a short stint as deputy press secretary is laughable, except in the echo chambers of Washington’s elitist circles.
More importantly, the fact that these individuals support Biden starkly indicates they are not Republicans in anything but name. It’s one thing to be a Republican critical of Trump, who, despite his outspoken approach, achieved notable conservative successes by appointing genuine conservatives to crucial roles. It’s altogether different to claim allegiance to the Republican Party while backing Biden—a pro-abortion up-to-birth, climate fanatic controlled by radical activists who seek to manipulate or abolish the Supreme Court. Biden is deeply entrenched within the left-wing faction of his party and offers no restoration of the “norms” that some voters crave post-January 6.
It’s worth noting that the Democratic Party has a long history of election denialism, dating back to 2000. Biden himself hinted in 2020 that losing would be synonymous with a rigged election, revealing the hypocrisy at play.
Call these individuals whatever you wish, but “prominent Republicans” who support Biden decisively undermine their claim to the GOP identity. Their words hold little sway with those genuinely dedicated to conservative values and the liberty-minded cause, serving only those who are eager to see Democratic victories.
