A few days ago I saw someone wearing their red Make America Great Again hat in a store. Even in a primarily conservative county, it was a rarity until the last month. Now I saw it more and more. It wasn’t a sign of defiance as much as it is an indication that people are through catering to the left’s whining and moaning. Likewise, I have heard more people saying Merry Christmas than I have in years. There’s no concern of people being insulted because you don’t say, Happy Holidays. The time of having to measure your words out of hurting people’s faux feelings has passed.
Trump’s victory has spurred optimism, not about him, but about the country. The stock market hit new highs the day after the election. Gas prices started to drop. People shook off the filth of the last four years and have begun to the look to a brighter future.
There has been a feeling that conservatives couldn’t voice their opinions during the Biden presidency. For years silence was how many dealt with the woke. Some of that was fear. People saw individuals cancelled for daring to post their beliefs. People’s lives were ruined. Even today the Left encourages their hoards to cut off family and friends that don’t agree with them politically.
People felt their values were challenged on a daily, if not hourly basis. We were told we had to accept men in women’s sports and locker rooms. We were told what words we were allowed to use. Our religions were called into a question. Family values were tossed out the window. Teachers pushed to take over responsibilities of parents.
Add into this was Joe Biden, claiming that anyone that believed in making America great again was a threat to democracy. We were labeled Nazis, domestic terrorists, and other leftist labels. Our symbols, were marked as those of alt-right extremists. The media wove narratives of concentration camps and rounding up journalists. When all of that failed, left-inspired assassins attempted to kill Donald Trump—twice. The media skewed polls to inflate the support of Kamala Harris in hopes that it would drive away conservative voters. They threw everything at Trump and those that supported him.
And it utterly failed.
With Trump’s victory, the darkness of the last four years is lifting. The election demonstrated that people were done with the constant pain and threats from the Biden era. After November fifth, conservatives emerged to the light of day and embraced a new age. American flags were unfurled once more and displayed. The intimidation of the woke withered as conservative’s voices were made clear in the election results.
Americans voted to have secured borders. They voted to remove people that came into the country illegally. They voted for spending that wouldn’t fuel inflation to meet Green New Deal goals. They voted to do away with DEI and the division of our population to meet the Left’s political goals. They cast their vote for parents having a say over their children’s education. They voted for America to be strong and to not face debacles like our withdrawal from Afghanistan ever again. Most important, they voted for accountability in our leaders and government. These votes stood
World leaders are meeting with Trump rather than the withered husk of Joe Biden. He is moving forward with fulfilling his campaign promises which is already leading to actions in other countries. Trump his stepped into the void of American leadership as Biden becomes the lamest duck in history.
Conservatives are enjoying what they are seeing. The cabinet choices are not perfect, but they represent the President attempting to fulfill his commitments he made during the election. It feels as if Biden is already gone; along with the stink of mothballs, Ben Gay, and an overwhelming sense of disappointment.
Most importantly, it feels as if Trump is running the country already, if not formally, then by action. There’s a feeling that someone is finally at the helm of nation. There’s acceptance that we are not marking in the night, but stepping out in the warming light of freedom.
In closing, let me say to all of you, Merry Christmas!
