The numbers paint a stark picture: estimates from the House Homeland Security Committee project that nationwide migrant encounters will exceed 10 million by the end of Fiscal Year 2024, an unprecedented figure in American history. Since Biden’s tenure began, approximately 9.5 million migrants have been encountered, with nearly eight million of these interactions occurring along the increasingly porous southern border. The current policy environment offers new arrivals a striking 70 to 90 percent likelihood of being allowed entry into the U.S. interior.
